What is a Dental Emergency?

A dental emergency can happen at any time, leaving you in pain and discomfort. We are equipped to handle many emergencies for both new and existing patients. Our goal is to find the source of your discomfort and help provide treatment in a convenient and easy manner. Dr. Bhandaru works with adults as well as pediatric patients who require immediate emergency care.

The whole team is very friendly. Great atmosphere. Thanks for getting me in quickly for a broken tooth/cavity repair! LC

Why would you need treatment for a Dental Emergency?

While some emergencies are less problematic than others, it is still important that you seek treatment as soon as possible. If you allow the emergency to go untreated, the problem will eventually get worse and cause the need for more complicated treatment options. At the start of any emergency, we recommend coming into our office for a thorough examination where we can look for the problem that is causing you pain. This not only improves your oral health, but it allows you to get back to living life to the fullest.

What are common Dental Emergencies?

We never like to lump dental emergencies into any one category. If what you are experiencing right now is causing you pain, discomfort, distress or frustration, you can call us to be seen and we can work to treat the problem. However, some of the more common emergencies we see on a regular basis include:

  • Pain and Toothache
  • Infections and Abscesses
  • Post-Op Emergencies
  • Broken, Fractured, Cracked and Chipped Teeth
  • Restorations that have Fallen Out
  • Broken Appliances and Prosthesis
  • Gum Inflammation and Bleeding
  • Severe Tooth Sensitivity
  • Wisdom Tooth-Related Pain

What can you expect during the Emergency appointment?

You will be seen by Dr. Bhandaru who will perform a thorough examination. Oftentimes, an x-ray is needed to help find the underlying problem and assist in creating a treatment plan. We will then create a personalized treatment plan just for you and can offer this care either during the same appointment or at a later day. If an infection is present, you may need antibiotics prior to having any type of work done. Your emergency appointment is done quickly, easily and as comfortably as possible. We welcome new and existing patients to come in for their dental emergency needs.

If you have an emergency and need to be seen right away, call us now and we will work to get you scheduled with a convenient appointment.
